PARENTS-PLEASE– MAKE sure your child’s book rental, lunch account, lost books, are taken care of by the end of the school year. Any outstanding balances will be turned over at the end of the year to the administration office.                                                                                                                                   SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM-Food that’s in...When school is out! SCS announces 2010 summer lunch program, June 9th-July 30th. Free sack lunches will be provided throughout our community by the SCS Food Service Department as part of a USDA federally funded food program. FREE to all children 18 and younger! Lunches will be served Monday thru Friday of each week from 11:30 am-12:30 pm at three locations. Shelbyville Boys Club, Loper Elementary Cafeteria, and/or Cimarron Place Apartments, Adult Leaning Center. To participate in the program, all kids have to do is show up at one of the open sites. LUNCHES MUST BE EATEN ON SITE. No application or registration is required.                                                                                                                                                                                REGISTRATION FOR NEXT YEAR- packets will be mailed out in late July for the returning K-4th graders. Please make sure we have your current address on file. Registration for K-5 will be Tuesday, August 3rd 9-11 am, 1-3 pm, and 5:30-7:30 pm. Wednesday, August 4th from 10:00 am-1:00 pm. Please bring your registration papers during those times and receive any additional information you may need.                                                                                                                                                           MEDICATION PICK-UP- Reminder: A parent must pick up all student medications at the end of the school year. Any medicine left after June 2nd will be destroyed. Please make arrangements to pick–up, medicine WILL NOT be sent home with students. GIRLS INC– Is having fun in the summer! They have summer camp so register now: Swimming, Field Trips, Volleyball Camp, Basketball Camp, Golf Camp, Tennis Camp, Gymnastics, and much, much, more! Information went home with your child on registration deadlines. Don’t delay sign-up today! STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL– CALLING all girls ages 4-10! Come and play dress-up! Prizes will be awarded. This is a Strawberry Shortcake look-a-like contest. This will be held on Friday, June 11th with festival hours from 11 am-7 pm. at Downtown Square. Prizes will be awarded to everyone! To pre-register, call 392-0127!                                                        TWILIGHT SAGA~NEW MOON– Sponsored by Shelby County Drug Free Coalition! Movies in the Park. Starts on Friday, May 28th and activities start at 7:00 pm. This event will take place at the Sunset Park (beside the Babe Ruth Park). Its FREE so bring the entire family! **Free snow cones, raffle, games, prizes and more!                                                                                                                                                           PHYSICAL ACTIVITY– builds a great foundation for a healthy life. It’s a win/win event for you and your child. It can: increase self-esteem and capacity for learning, help kids handle stress. Build and maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints, and help control weight. Physical activity is not just an action, it’s a lifestyle. Walk and talk instead of sitting at the table to do homework, take a walk with your child while practicing spelling words, multiplication tables or geography facts. MARK YOUR CALENDAR– Shelbyville D.A.R.E. program will have a Friday, August 13th movie night at Meridian Park Family Aquatic Center. Stay cool in the pool and watch a movie Finding Nemo. Don’t miss out on a free night for the kids! Concessions will be available! Movie starts at dark. Pool will open at 7:00pm.
