Mrs. Garrison'sClassroom News

May 16, 2008

As the year winds down, I would like to thank all of the students and parents for making this a very enjoyable and memorable year.  It has been a pleasure working with each and every one of you.  We have had many exciting and fun times throughout the year that I will always remember.  Some highlights from the year have been the Cave, Underground Railroad, Bears of Blue River Plays, Green Flag Program, and of course our Civil War.  I appreciate all of the support from home and in the classroom.  Thank you very much for a successful year!

Students will receive their final report cards on Thursday.  It will have grades for all four grading periods listed.  I have had many questions about AE for next year.  Mrs. Larrabee will be sending home letters over the summer.  Good luck to everyone next year!

On Wednesday May 21, we will be recognizing students for good grades, excellent attendance, great citizenship, and making improvements throughout the year.  Parents are more than welcome to attend.  We will meet in the gym at 10:15.  We hope to see you there!

Thursday was the last day for AR points.  Many students met their reading goals and are invited to a swimming party on Monday.  Make sure your child has returned his/her permission slip to attend.  Lunch will be served at the pool.  Congratulations to those students who have worked hard to meet their goals!

I will be accepting Indiana Heritage cards until Tuesday.  Students need 12 cards completed.  There is still a little time left to get these completed.

This Saturday, May 17th, our Thomas A. Hendricks Cabin for the Create a Landmark Contest will be judged at 11:40 at the Indiana State Museum.  I would love to have as many students as possible attend this event.  Every student and up to two adults per student will be admitted to the museum for free.  After judging, there will be an awards ceremony at 3:00.  I hope to see some of you there!
