Who is My Teacher?

An Autobiography of Mrs. Heidenreich

My name is Mrs. Heidenreich.  There are many interesting things about me that I am sure you would like to know.  I hope this autobiography helps to answer some of your questions about me.

On May 6, 1976, I was born in a small town in Illinois called Watseka.  Watseka is about 20 miles from the even smaller town where I grew up.  I grew up on a farm outside of the town of Claytonville, Illinois.  My parents still live there.  My dad was a farmer and my mom was a stay at home mom.  When I was a kid, I use to ride my bike and explore many different places near my home.  I like to visit my parents because it is very quiet and peaceful.  I now have a husband that works at Shelbyville High School, a daughter named Hannah who is in sixth grade, and a son named Jonathon who is in fourth grade.

I went to college at Butler University.  I decided to become a teacher because I have always loved school and I liked working with children.  I taught for 7 years at a school in Indianapolis called St. Roch.  At St. Roch, I taught 3rd grade.  I left St. Roch to teach here at Coulston. This will be my 5th year teaching fourth grade at Coulston. That means that this is my twelfth year teaching school. My favorite subjects to teach is reading and writing.

When I am at home and have nothing to do, I really enjoy reading.  Over the summer I read a lot of books!  I usually read mystery books, but some times I read books that make me cry or make me scared. My favorite books from my summer reading was the Twilight series. I read magazines, newspapers, and cookbooks, too.  I also like to cook; I mostly make desserts.  I love anything chocolate!  I also like to scrapbook, watch movies, and I can play the piano, a little.  One thing I don’t like to do is sit.  I like to be doing something.  I don’t really like to clean but I like a clean house so I do clean, a lot I might add!

In 25 years or so when I retire, I will spend a lot of time with my family.  By then, I should have grandchildren and I will want to play with them as much as I can.  I would love to travel and see places that I have never seen before.  I will probably read and maybe catch up on my scrapbooking!

I hope that this was valuable to you.  There is so much more that I could tell you about myself.  Maybe you thought of things you would like to ask me.  I am sure that you will know me quite well by the end of our school year together.
