REMINDERS

Math Facts

Please encourage your child to study his/her math facts daily.  Your child will need to complete Rocket Math addition facts tests through letter “M” by this Friday, Oct. 10th .

Accelerated Reading

12 AR points are required by the end of each grading period.  Picture books are usually ½ point books.  Chapter books are usually 1 point books.  This week’s Reading Log was sent home with your child today.  The back of the Reading Log explains the requirements for the AR part of your child’s reading grade.  An AR sheet will be sent home in your child’s folder on Wednesday.  This sheet will tell you how many AR points your child has so far.  This is the last week of the grading period.

Homework

A homework packet containing spelling practice and singular and plural nouns practice sheets was sent home today.  It is due on Friday.

Folders

Folders with the previous week’s papers, behavior grade, and AR points will be sent home on Wednesday.  Please review the papers and the behavior grade, sign the folder, and return it the following day.  Thank you!

School Pictures

Tuesday, October 7th-Please return the order envelopes tomorrow if you plan to order pictures.

October orders are due by Wednesday, Oct. 8th.

Field Trip

The third grade field trip to the Benjamin Harrison Home is Friday. If you signed up to send a lunch from home, please remember to send it with your child on Friday.  We are requesting that the students wear nice school clothes.  The students will need a jacket or long sleeves because we will be eating lunch outside.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

If you did not get the chance to sign up for parent/teacher conferences, please see the back of the newsletter.  There are still seven students who do not have a conference time.  Please fill your name in on one of the remaining timeslots and return it to school tomorrow.  I will try to get your conference time as close as possible to the time that you request.  I will send conference time reminders next week.  Thank you!
