SHELBYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL GOLDEN BEARS TO PLAY OPENING GAME OF
 2008 FOOTBALL SEASON AT NEW LUCAS OIL STADIUM

SHELBYVILLE, IN May 16, 2008 - Shelbyville High School Athletic Director Harry Larrabee announced today that the Shelbyville Golden Bears will play their opening football game of the 2008 season against the Greensburg Pirates at the new Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the NFL Indianapolis Colts, on Saturday, August 23, 2008.

Shelbyville High School will serve as the host team as it is our regularly scheduled game between the Bears and the Pirates.  Four games are scheduled to be played on August 23rd with Shelbyville and Greensburg slated to play the second game.  Kick-off is tentatively set for 1:45 p.m.  Details regarding the price of tickets, season ticket sales and other information surrounding the plans for the day will be announced at a later date.

 Participating teams include:

                                               Elwood vs. Heritage Christian – 11:00 a.m. Kick-off

Shelbyville vs. Greensburg – 1:45 p.m. Kick-off

Lafayette Jefferson vs. Zionsville – 4:30 p.m. Kick-off

Avon vs. Hamilton Southeastern – 7:30 p.m. Kick-off

The Shelbyville Golden Bears are coming off their best winning season of Shelbyville High School’s history with a 2007 regular undefeated season record of 11-1 and claiming the school’s first Hoosier Heritage Conference Championship.

The Indianapolis Colts are scheduled to play their first game in the new Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, August 24, 2008 against the Buffalo Bills.
