The Football Buddy program was developed by Sandi Fitzgerald, 1st grade teacher at Hendricks Elementary School, along with her husband, Scott Fitzgerald, SHS teacher and coach.  Before each game, the students write letters and draw pictures for some of the varsity football players.  On Friday, October 3, the students met the SHS football players and their football buddy.  The football players surprised the students with a special t-shirt with their name and number on the back of the shirt.

Sandi Fitzgerald came up with a unique way to teach her first-graders at Hendricks Elementary and ended up schooling several of the football players on Shelbyville's state-ranked, and undefeated, football team.
