Katrina Hall Honored
at June 13, 2006 Regular Board Meeting
Mrs. Katrina Hall was honored as an
outgoing school board member at the June 13th Regular
Meeting. Mrs. Hall began her eight-year tenure on
the Shelbyville Central Schools Board of School Trustees
in 1998 and was then re-elected in 2002. Mrs. Hall
has served as the President of the School Board in 2001
and 2002, and as the Legislative Liaison from
1998-2006. Over the years, Mrs. Hall has been active
in attending workshops sponsored by the Indiana School
Boards Association (ISBA) and as a loyal advocate for
Shelbyville Central Schools. She also serves on the
Shelby County United Fund (SCUFFY) Board.
Mrs. Hall has been employed with
Indiana Farm Bureau as a tax and local government
specialist since 1999. Prior to joining Farm Bureau,
she worked for the State Board of Tax Commissioners.
Mrs. Hall's knowledge of taxes, local government, and
education issues has assisted the School Board in making
sound decisions that have positively impacted our
Corporation and Community.
Dr. James Rees, current School Board
Member and past President of the Board, made the following
statement about Mrs. Hall, "I can't let it go without
it being said that you've been the epitome of what a
School Board Member should be, and I think that you have
made us a better Board because of how hard you have worked
here."
Mrs. Hall and her husband, Pete, recently
moved outside of District Four, which vacated a seat in the
May 2, 2006 election. Mr. Wade Lewis will be sworn
in at the July 11, 2006 Regular Meeting.
