Association Academic All State Volleyball!

There were 47 girls from across the
state recognized on the Academic All State Volleyball Team, and of those 47
players, 4 are from Shelbyville High School. The most of any school in
the state! As Harry Larrabee, SCS Athletic Director, stated, "This
is off the charts!" Way to go ladies!
As taken from a Shelbyville News article by Brian
Harmon on September 28, 2006:
"Impressive stuff, but those marks pale in comparison to the ones on
the report cards of Kelie Carpenter, Dana Gardner, Sara Lewis and Julie
Snuffer. Through their junior years, the foursome compiled 153 'A's, 13 'B's
- and nothing else. Carpenter ranks second in her class with a 4.4 grade
point average; Gardner (4.28) ranks sixth; Snuffer (4.15), seventh; and Lewis
(4.04), 12th. Shelbyville coach Lorie Lux said it's no coincidence that
the rise of the volleyball program - the team won 14, 12 and four
matches the previous three seasons - has peaked with this particular senior
group. "Being able to juggle academics and sports shows you the
kind of personality they have, and their determination to be
successful," said Lux, in her fourth season."
