I am an AOL user and Shelbyville's Web-based email doesn't work

Dear AOL Users (and I am one of them):  AOL users may be experiencing trouble getting Shelbyville's web-based email system.  This is probably occurring because you are using AOL's built-in web browser and not the standard browsers like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.  AOL modifies the browser they include with their software and those modifications make that browser incompatible with many websites including many web-based email system using GroupWise software.

If you want to access Shelbyville's web-based email system through AOL, you would need to use one of the standard web browsers (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator) that was probably installed on your computer when you bought it.

Start using AOL as you always do, but after you get signed onto AOL, start using one of the installed browsers on your computer and not AOL's built-in modified browser.  To do this:

• Mininize the AOL window and Open Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.  You can open these browsers by going to the "Start" menu and then to "Programs" to find the icon to one of those browsers or you could just look on your desktop to see if there is an icon to those browsers.

Even though I like the parental controls AOL offers, I never use AOL's built-in browser since that modified browser does have problems with many websites.
